The Press is Moab’s space to Eat, Drink, Make, and Mingle.

Coffee and eats by Dos Mas. Curated retail by Arteesian. Fiber arts by Desert Threads. Event space, marketplace, and community gathering spot all under one historic roof in downtown Moab.

Our Roots

Rebecca, owner of Moab Made, and Arturo, owner of Mas Cafe, had been dreaming of bridging their worlds of coffee, art, and food for years before the Press became a reality. Both have a passion for bringing people together, whether over a steaming cuppa or an artistic collaboration. When the historic Times Independent Building in Moab went up for sale, they knew it was time to make it finally happen.

Rebecca purchased the space with an intention to honor the building’s past while introducing a new chapter. The building was previously home to Moab’s 125 year-old newspaper, The Times Independent. It’s walls still hold the scent of fresh ink and and the whispers of reporter’s conversations. The Taylors built a long legacy of telling local stories and providing an essentail resource to the community. As  Zane Taylor put it “We’ve told the Moab story: We’ve covered graduations and milestones, held public officials to account, reported on the economy from livestock to uranium to tourism.”

The Press hopes to continue the legacy of serving Moab as a community hub. Like a newspaper does, it’s a place to exchange information, organize, create, and collaborate. Stop by the Press to see historic photos of the building and nods to its past.
